Back before the first civilizations, humans existed as hunters and gatherers. They lived in tribes, with the men hunting large animals for meat, and the women foraging for plants. This system worked very well for early humans because it was all they had ever known. Hunters and gatherers relied on the land for all their food, so they had to move constantly in order to find new food sources. Women in these tribes were only allowed to have children every 5 years, because it would take 5 years for a child to be able to keep up with the tribe. For this reason, women often did not go out and forage because it was their responsibility to take after the young ones. Hunter and gatherer societies also allowed for a lot of free time. These people did not eat nearly as much as we do today, so they didn't need to spend their entire days looking for food. Instead, they spent a lot of time focusing on the arts, music, and... procreating. It was all fine and dandy for hunters and gatherers. However, when agriculture was discovered, many tribes decided to go a different route and adapt this new lifestyle. In this simulation, you will be playing the role of a hunter-gatherer tribe member who is either for or against making the switch to agriculture. Please keep in mind that you will be simulating the role as if you were a hunter/gatherer making the choice - you are unaware of anything that results from this choice.
